Kelly heads up the product design team within Absa’s corporate and investment banking division. The team is responsible for the ideation and design of digital platforms and driving design thinking throughout the division. Digital innovation and partnerships also fall within her portfolio where the team is responsible for partner scouting and engagement, research and thought leadership, and in particular identifying and hypothesizing the impact digital trends will have on corporate and investment banking.
In 2016 she led the world-first live blockchain trade pilot in partnership with Absa, Barclays and Wave, a blockchain trade finance fintech. More recently in 2020 she drove a team to deliver a COVID relief funding programme to those most impacted by lock down, entirely remotely and in record time.
Her previous experience includes; financial planning and analysis; setting up a fintech business in Kenya and Zambia; as well as television presenting on a local magazine show. She holds a BA in Live Performance from AFDA, a BCom in Industrial Psychology from UNISA, and is a Chartered Management Accountant (ACMA / CGMA).
